How is NEPAL? Between CHINA And INDIA

Nepalese are actually quite decent types until and unless it comes against their prestige and self respect. The country of Gurkha armies who are respected all over the world due to the bravery they showed during the wars in past. Nepal is the country that has the highest peak in the world i.e. non other than Mt. Everest having the height of 8,848 meters above the ocean level. Nepal is the birth place of Lord Buddha. Nepal actually has many more. Anyways, let’s come to the point.

The total population of Nepal is 28.98 Million as per statistical report 2016, among which 51.48% are female.
Nepal is much a cultural country having more than 100 different castes and more than 6 religions. Among them Chhetri and Bahun are the most dominant castes and Hindu is the most dominant religion.

Daura-Suruwal or Labeda Suruwal, is the traditional outfit of Nepalese men. The equivalent female national costume is the Gunyou Cholo. Daura is a variant of Kurta and the upper wear and Suruwal is the trouser.

There are about 93 different languages here, of course National language being Nepali.The major festivals in Nepal are :
  • Dashain and Tihar.
  • Buddha Jayanti. (Buddha’s Birth day)
  • Gai Jatra.
  • Janai Purnima.
  • Teej.
  • Shree Krishna Janmastami.
  • Fagun Purnima. (Holi)
  • Maghe Sankranti.

Among them, Dashain and Tihar are the most celebrated festivals.
In Nepal, the economy is dominated by agriculture being approximately 65% farmers. Most of the farmers actually follow the traditional ways of farming.

Nepal has it’s own calendar which is Bikram Sambat (BS). Currently it’s 2075 BS here in 2018 AD. Baishakh is the starting month of BS. There are obviously 12 months in BS calendar as in AD but it runs on it’s own time frame. 1st Baishak is celebrated as the National New year’s Day.

There are six seasons in Nepal:
  1. Basanta Ritu (Spring)
  2. Grishma Ritu (Summer)
  3. Barsha Ritu (Rainy)
  4. Sharad Ritu (Autumn)
  5. Hemanta Ritu (Pre-winter)
  6. Shishir Ritu (Winter)
Each of these seasons lasts for two months and there are total 6 seasons in 12 months.
Women in Nepal generally used to be housewives, but that’s not the case in present era. Most of the educated women actually have jobs.
The typical Nepali food includes Dal-bhat-tarkari which is eaten throughout the country. But there are several other dishes in Nepal that are actually found in Nepal only.

Total area of Nepal is 1,47,181 sq. km among which 17% region lies in Terai or Madhesh where the land is totally flat and is generally used for farming, 68% of total landmass is occupied by hilly region and rest falls in Himalaya region.

The National Flag of Nepal is totally different than the flag of any other countries. The flag consist of two triangle inside which a sun and a moon lies.

Coming to the wealth, Nepal is not a rich country. The major reason behind it is the import to export ratio which is approximately 13.
Nepal is a landlocked country i.e. it does not have any oceans. Nepal is surrounded by China in North and by India in south, East and West. The currency of Nepal is Nepali Rupees.
Nepal is much a poor country. The total budget for fiscal year 2075/2076 (BS) has been announced to be 1.3 Trillion Rupees which in USD will be approximately 12 Billion.
An average Nepali spends around Rs. 70,680 per year (and debt per head for each Nepali is Rs. 5,770 as per data of 2016 which may have increased till then).
Total debt of Nepal Government is 5,770 million US Dollars.
